Electromagnetic interference (EMI)falls into two broad catgories - conducted and radiated. Conducted emissions refers to the noise that is carried on wires or other conductors, while radiated EMI floats through the air. While conducted EMI is certainly problematic, it is radiated EMI that makes design engineers cringe.

Linear Technology has developed a line of electromagnetically compatible (EMC) micromodule DC/DC converters.
