Low Noise µModule DC/DC Converters Simplify EMI Design - LTM8032, LTM8031, LTM8020, LTM8021, LTM4606
with David Ng, Manager - Module Development
Electromagnetic interference (EMI)falls into two broad catgories - conducted and radiated. Conducted emissions refers to the noise that is carried on wires or other conductors, while radiated EMI floats through the air. While conducted EMI is certainly problematic, it is radiated EMI that makes design engineers cringe.
Linear Technology has developed a line of electromagnetically compatible (EMC) micromodule DC/DC converters. Like other members of the micromodule family, these parts are easy to design and use, but on top of that they have been independently certified to meet the stringent requirements of EN55022 Class B.
